How do I do this

This is programming related but does not fit into any of the groups but the mods feel free to move if you want.

I want to design a flight search engine can came across skyscanner.net. Does anyone know how they get their data on flights/pricing etc and where that data comes from ?

They make money by selling adsense type ads and do not sell the flights from their sites ( they simply act like a SE showing the flights/pricing and transfer the buyer to the airlines site if the person wants to buy the site).

To me the most obvious way is the standard scrapping of each airline site. perhaps somebody with more programming knowledge can provide better answer and / or suggestion of how I can do something similar without scrapping hundreds of individual world airline sites.

My guess is that they actually have an agreement with the companies they compare as I cant find anything in there code to suggest site ripping. There is alot to look for though so could be wrong.

Cheers
