Firstly i would suggest installing Jabber IM Server (it's opensource and very good) then install the IM client on each computer and get everyone to register.

Hi Stevie,

my friend is currently making an instant messenger that people will pay for their own server copy. I will be reviewing a copy of it when it comes out.
