Issue with accidental domain expiration.

A client's domain that I manage expired by accident. The problem now is that some guy with 66k+ domains bought it, and I don't know how I can get it back! I've tried the email address and phone number given in the whois records:

whois.domaintools.com/oelgart-feuerwehrfahrzeuge.de

But he didn't respond to my mails, and only a Swedish speaking answering machine picks up the phone. So now I'm somewhat lost. I need this domain back as soon as possible.

Does anyone have any ideas what else I could do?

Thanks!

If it is a business name, and the business name is registered, you may be able to get it back using the domain name protection described here:

netlaw.de 98/02 - Domain Name Disputes in Germany

It might be worth reviewing this, and others (I Googled for 'domain name protection Germany') to understand the rights of the company and then write a formal letter to the new holder, as well as the appropriate authorities. You probably won't need a lawyer, but if you have a friend that is a lawyer, you could have the letter come from them.

Good luck.

Is there an accidental domain expiration? Because from what I know, you will receive a notice from the admin if your domain is nearing expiration.

But if you are in urgent need to get back your domain, you have to mail the admin where you bought your domain and explain to them your excuse of missing the renewal of your domain.

I'm in the process of getting the name back... looks like there'll be no big issues. I'll post back later with the full story.

Thanks Wirehopper and Jasonone!
