Hello,
I'm thinking of implementing a design your own product feature for my website and I was wondering if there are any open source packages out there that I could base myself of.
What i would like to have is pretty straight forward.
- Choose a product from 4 available
- add custom text and place it on the product
- add some standard graphics
- upload a gif image( for this i don't know if its possible, but I'd like to check if the gif has a transparent background)

So, are there libraries available that could give me head start or pretty much I'm better to start it on my own.....
What do you guys think?

I think you should hire a coder, this is not a difficult project for a professional programmer.

I agree hire a coder, it will be faster and cheaper in the long run.

You might want to check out X-Cart (Shopping Cart Software & Ecommerce Solutions: X-Cart. Free shopping cart trial is available.). They can also customize the cart if you need help, you can ask them for an estimate. Other carts may also be good. Be sure to comply with PCI/DSS requirements, which protect credit card transactions.

What do you think about Magento? I think it's also a great open source shopping cart software.
