This is great news. I wish all mainstream sites would do that. No browser in the world should be used for 14 years! (At least not the same version).

True digioz!

But as well... I haven't done much work with IE8 to date, but from what I've seen IE8 does a lot better job with standards... it's not perfect, but much better.

My only wish is that when IE6 goes down, it takes it's brother IE7 along with. hah!

I think this is a good move by youtube........IE6 is now too old to use....IE8 is a good one..however, sometimes my bank site gives me some problem with IE8..

I have had to re-write all kinds of code because of IE8. But my favorite one to date is the built in Visual Studio ASP.NET dynamic menu component which doesn't work in IE8 AT ALL! You would think Microsoft would at least support the components that they included in their own development environment in Visual Studio 2005!

yep... I left to use IE 6 in the couple of days of launching IE8.
