Google launched its own programming language: "GO".

Go is a great language for systems programming with support for multi-processing, a fresh and lightweight take on object-oriented design, plus some cool features like true closures and reflection.

I've been wanting to learn a C -like language just as a hobby. As a PHP guy, C has always looked cryptic in comparison to what I do now. And I hate the idea of having to compile something. Go looks pretty neat... a little simpler, and fast to compile. I think I might tinker a bit with it. Worse case scenario, I might learn something. hah!
Why doesn't Go run on Windows?
We understand that a significant fraction of computers in the world run Windows and it would be great if those computers could run Go programs. However, the Go team is small and we don't have the resources to do a Windows port at the moment. We would be more than willing to answer questions and offer advice to anyone willing to develop a Windows version.
It looks like we'll have to develop our own windows version.
Very interesting I had not read anything about that. I will wait a bit for the language to mature then I might experiment myself with it. Little too busy with other projects to take on a new language at the moment anyway.
