Dreamweaver issue

Hi there..

I got a problem with dreamweaver.. this is what happened:

yesterday I worked on a website in dreamweaver at home. Made some major changes
during a 6 hours working session. Everything worked fine and I was happy with the result.
Today I'm back at work and try to make a little change to the script. When I opened the
php file all changes made yesterday were gone! It was "back" to the file it was before
yesterday... is this a normal dreamweaver thing and can I disable this?

I work direct on my ftp server, so no "site-folder" on my computers.

Hope someone can help me out here.. because six hours working for %#*@(#* doesn't make
me very happy!

Hope someone can help me out here..

With regards,

_j

Unfortunately, you probably can't recover your work.

In the future, prior to making major changes, you should make a backup, and periodically, through the day, another backup is a good idea.

Wish I had a better answer.

You don't keep a local copy of the files on your computer? What if your host server crashes?

Are you sure you uploaded the script to the server from the home computer? Maybe you have a local testing server setup at work and you're viewing the testing server's file? (But I think you would know if you did...)

If you're 100% sure you uploaded it to the live server from home, and it was working on the server, and you've already tried downloading a copy from the server and it's the wrong file, then you can ask your hosting provider what happened to the file, or if they have a backup.

Good luck.
