Hello all
I'm currently studying web design & development, its my first year of study and we've covered most of the basics of developing websites, these include XHTML, CSS, Expression Web, Dreamweaver and the adobe creative suit (Photoshop, illustrator etc.) As I said this is my first year I know I've still got a lot to learn!
The problem I have, and this includes my question, is that I would have thought that before I started with any modules/subjects that they would at least cover what the internet is all about, where it started, legal responsibilities, why on earth am I actually able to view content from all over the world by just tapping into this "mystery web, thing" which I know nothing about, but instead their first words were, "Lets start with the basics of HTML..."
I've asked the tutor about this and his answer basically stated that I was supposed to know what I'm in for before I started my course.
We'll, I'm not 100% happy with his response but I'm on a mission now to cover this on my own.
I really hope you you can give me info on this or at least a reliable source from where I can gain some knowledge of the ins-and outs of the internet / the basics of the internet.
