Hello Another newbie, with a question

Just signed up here, I really would like to get into coding..Guess just don't know which code to learn first... Perl looks like fun.. Any suggestions on starting code? Besides html.

Anyways on to my question, I have a button that depending on what state the button displays the image for the state, this is on asp pages that I have no control over.. The link for the buttons stays the same in all states, just the image changes, So I want to make different images for the states of the button, and just unsure how to go about this as I have no control over the asp pages or the current images being used..

Thanks...
