Hello all,
I'm joining in a bid to figure out how to get servers to talk to my pages, I've just spent almost 3 days trying to set up a mailing list subscribe feature on a page but just find myself altering scripts and uploading them with no success, just messages about locations being incorrect and files not being where they're supposed to be. I've installed Mailman on my server, looked at Joomla and scratched my head and visited a thousand "simple mailing list" pages, so now I'm reading what seems to be a pretty good tutorial at tizag.
My html knowledge is ok, but generally I've always preffered knocking a site together in imageready and outputting the optimised slices into dreamweaver, so it's not well-practised.
I'd be grateful if anybody can help me out as I stumble through these next stages, and if anybody has a recommendation for an easy to use mailing list subscription tool (i.e. this forum can help me out when it tells me it won't do something) I'd appreciate it!
Also, I actually own the first issue (and the rest) of input magazine (which I can't link to because it's my first post!), so if anybody wants a hand programming their vic20 I'll be glad to help out....
