HELP hide data from appearing in html source code generated by perl

Hope I'm explaining this right: Not well versed--I am running existing perl script. Visitors submit information. Once submitted this information can be viewed (like in any forum). --On the page viewable by visitors, the name shows up only with a hyperlink to the poster's email. The problem is, if someone wanted to "view source" data appears in the source (like the email address). Is there a way to tell perl to hide the information within the source code of posting generated?
Thank you!!

Are you looking to remove the data altogether or you need to obfuscate it in some way?

HELP hide data from appearing in code generated by perl

Hi,

I just want the data hidden or obscured within the source code of the doc generated by perl script, not removed. Right now, someone posts a message and if they include their email, perl generates a hyperlink of their name to their email when generating the html doc of the posting. The email doesn't appear on the page viewable by visitors. It is just that it does appear within the html source code. So, if a spider comes along, it could find the email address--
