Allright... we got the biggest ESF (a hl mod) rescource site running ... but since we have about 2000 unique hits per day, there are alot of peoples who link our files directly from their site... as download database i use Powerdownload 2.2.4... now i thought about a script that only lets you download files from our server if you come from our filebase and it wont let you access the file if you were linked to the file from another website or from a forum u know ...
but since i dont know anything about pearl or cgi, i dont know how such a script would need to work or if there are easy to config pre made scripts out there ... i found some scripts that can do things like that but they all have a build in filedatabase, which is useless since i use powerdownload and i want to keep pdl ...
any ideas?

You need .htaccess with rewrite-rules and voila - no more leeches
