Rolleyes Self directing from HTML to perl script and back

This is my first post.
Its been 3 weeks i have been studing perl.
i am having problem self directing.i have HTML form which runs a perl script whose function is to connect to MYSQL database and pass a query and display the result to the same HTML document.
Can anybody show me how it can be done show some examples...
