I was trying to work with GD.pm interface for the gdlibrary.
To do that I had to install the libgd package.

I tried to install libgd onto windows xp, but i dont know really where to start. Ive downloaded the package and then tried to follow the instructions and it says to run the makemsvcimport.bat
which i do but it comes up with the following message

'lib' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Done. You can now link to the bgd.lib import library from MSVC.

Do i need to install somethnig else before i install gdwin32
any help would be greatly appreciated

This information is probably not usefull to you anymore, but I'm sure others will run across the same question.

You can install the GD perl module from this location:
http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/

Use the following command:

ppm install http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/GD.ppd

It already includes a pre-compiled GD dll.
The site also includes other nice perl modules, like libXML and others.
