Sendmail and PHP

Hi ,
How much time will it take for you guys in general to send mails using
mail().
Its taking nearly 3 minutes to clear, My previous post also contained this same topic and iam not really quenched by the answer, Is there any time limit specfied in the php.ini files to clear off the mails or any other configuration files ?

Thanks
Suresh

If your email is taking 3 minutes to send, by that do you mean the page takes 3 minutes to finish and load your "done" message or does it take 3 minutes for the email to arrive?

If it takes minutes for the page to finish loading I've found that 100% of the time for me it is a problem with my server's mail server configuration.

Sendmail

I believe this problem could be because of the server configurations only.
Have a look at the configurations of Sendmail, Check your SMTP .
Dont forget to have a look at the PHPMailer,

Sendmail & PHP

Thanks Guys ..
I have sorted out the answers for this mystery of clearing mail rates,
This is especially because of the server side settings , i had edited the sendmail configurations especially the smart host, and a little network configurations Now my mail rates are just 3 to 4 secs or earlier.

Thanks a lot for clues and the kind reply on time

Suresh
