Question Dynamic Article management script?

Hi! I am looking for some kind of article management script that can do the following:
I want to set up my own index page and have article titles dynamically appear based on the category they are in. For example one category is interviews and another is racing. I would like the 5/10 most recent interviews (titles and dates only) to appear on the main page and the 5/10 most recent racing articles to also appear. I guess I would need a backend script (php/mysql) to add the articles, but i dont understand how to get the latest articles to dynamically appear?
I want to use my own index page because I want other stuff on there as well from other scripts. Thanks

ncaster allows you to add the fields such as scores ect, you can then fill in those boxes in the post screen.

ncaster 1.7 which will release shortly will have additional features such as the ability to create drop down boxes and ratio selects eg for your scores.

all versions support the ability to out put category information to text files but the 1.7 release allows you to save a compiled list of latest information, these can be included easily in to your templates.

check the forms at

for more information.

Seems we are searching for the very same thing. In addition I would also like the article manangement script that can also generate html and text for reprint purposes.
