you can simply hardcode your template extension into a special extension and prefix all template files with, for example: tpl_$fileName.tpl. it will reduce time elapsed for the whole loops.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Can you explain with a little more english and a little less geek? I do understand most forms of geek, but this only made partial sence to me.
