deleting previous php folder and php.ini??
we can make it simple..
anyway, phpDev is a combo. what do you mean by "configure it myself?".

if we are talking about the same phpDev, it should be a program which includes php, mysql, perl, and apache in a package. it works in windows environment (don't know about other platform). just several clicks and users can set up their local servers. does what i say is the same with your referred PHPDev?

so, i think there should be uninstall menu there. just go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and check for the previously installed package. remove / uninstall it and now you can do the `installation` process on your own.
