hey everyone,

i'm building a little login script with PHP and flash. when a user logs in, it needs to set the variable $_SESSION['username'] with sessions and all that good stuff. any idea how i'd do that through flash and PHP? i have everything else working. (user +password selection from database)

Nice, I need to figure out how to connect to a mysql database and all that for later...(a project I'm working on, once my 'team' steps into action).
I don't know the answer to your question, but if you know how to set cookies in Flash (actioscript) then try making cookies open for a short time and everytime you refresh a page (...or go to a new page) it will check to see if you have a cookie, and if you do it deletes the cookie and recreates it (basicaly adding time). There are small problems with that, but it would work.
