Hey,
I am going to be working on a php/mysql project and since I'm still not too good with PHP and still learning, I am requesting some help...
What is it:
An extension/addon to PHP-Nuke.
A Usenet Binary News Indexer.
What's it do:
The object of it is the same as newzbin.com.
It will onnect to an NNTP (Network News Transfer Protocol) server and pick up all the headers of the articles in several groups.
The headers are then saved in the MySQL DB and users will be able to search through them on the website.
It will also have features where poster users can categorize the different article headers and post them with corresponding titles.
This will make search easier and more reliable for users.
There will be many more features in the future for it.
The users will be then able to download the Message IDs and open them in a compatible newsreader and leech the news.
It would really help to know what it is if you take a look at newzbin.com.
Overall it will be quite like newzBin.com, other than it will be a free service.
I myself know some PHP and am learning more by day with a great book. I am however quite good at HTML/Photoshop/CSS. I have done a lot of research on how this project will work and it shouldn't be hard at all.

If you are in the process of learning php mysql the starting off with a much simpler project is advisable.
