Login Script

I am looking for a login script where I can use one username and several different passwords, I took over a website with a lot of members, but the old webmaster set them all up with the same username. I do not have access to the script he used.
Please don't wast my time with search hotscripts.com, spent most of the day there when I wasn't trying to figure out why the script I was trying to set up could not verify the username or password in the SQL.
Any help would be appreciated.

Can you give a little more information about this login script? When there is a new member, does that new member have the same username, but a DIFFERENT password as the rest of the members? If this is the case, then it seems like the username is pretty much negligible and the password acts as a username entry.

sounds like the old webmaster was a moron

what i would do is create a new password system, and have the members register onto the new system(this way you wont have to punch in the data and also see who actually wants to stay a member)

its not too hard to make a password system, if you need with this, just post here ot you can contact me and i can help you make one

Thanks for the responses, It is a professional association, so they are essentially members for life, 2800 of them, so punching it in by hand is a little out of the question also when there is a new member then it is put in by hand.
andyMac you are corect the username is really not relevent. Thier passwords are their membership numbers.
I have tried converting some f the sctipts I have found on hotscripts, but seem to have probelms, they see the data base, but keep coming up with userbame/password not correct.
To let you know I am not a php coder, but you probably fgured that out.

out.
dude, i said that the members would re-register, and also make the new password system automated.

either way you will have to do some dirty work man as it sounds like this last guy really screwed around.

either way you go, you will have to transfer the current members.
