Viewing PHP before uploading?

I'm just getting into PHP and a MySQL database etc for the first time.

I use Apple Mac OSX and Dreamweaver MX. Is there any way I can see what my PHP pages and code etc will look like before I upload them to my site?

The reason I ask is because my PHP is not very good at the moment as I am learning and it is a pain to keep uploading only to see that it is wrong or doesn't work etc. I would like to see if it works and is as it should be before I upload it.

With Dreamweaver I can preview my HTML pages on the computer before I upload them, how can I do this with PHP?

To get apache/php/mysql on ur comp, easiest way is to use phptriad which installs all 3 for you: http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...lease_id=75430

Then run apache and put your php files into the apache htdocs like: c:\apache\htdocs\urfile.php and point your browser to http://localhost/urfile.php and see if it works.
