need help. been offered job to write website

hi ive been a developer for a few years now and only recently have been considering the idea of doing it for money, a person i know who owns a few shops has asked me to write him a commercial website for selling cars in pakistan exporting them from the uk i think (not got all the details yet). the consumer visit the website and have a list of cars and search function with details on the car they are interested in then they can purchase the car online.

my worries are in the purchase department. i have no experience with these purchase systems and how they work. i would be greatful if anyone can give me information on them and possibly a website with how they work how you go about the transfer of money and the products.

also as this is my first time i do not wish to be conned out of money so roughly how much should i be asking for such a website ?

my experience is in php and mysql

We do not help with jobs / homework etc here.. You would be exploiting us, making money off us if we did.

Why take the job if you have no idea what you're doing?

Yes , i agree with Keith ... i've asked the same question here from a while ago on the payments gateways and CC processors but you don't have to accept a job unless you take sure you can do it 100% ... and if so then why you take the money on a project ? to practise .

Which is what I was getting at, why take a job if you cannot complete it?
And, since this is a paying job, why are you trying to exploit our knowledge to gain a profit on it?

If you are fast at learning, you would know that Google would be your best bet, along with php.net and payment services such as paypal.com, egold.com etc...
