SQL output to EXCEL file

Hello, thanks in advance for any help you can give.

When pulling data from an sql table to an .xls file is there a way to specify the column length? I have been reading some open source scripts for research and all of them open excel with standard row and column lengths. None of the scripts have any reference to row or column size at all.

Is this just something I have to deal with or is there an instruction that will render the file to my specs.

I need to give management a realtime snapshot of my table, but having them resize columns to see all of the data is not going to fly.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,

Matt
