Unhappy E-Mail Addy Parser in Strings... Help

I wanted to know if there was a prewritten script that contained a function which looked and recognized email addresses in a string (ie... like in a paragraph looked for xxxxx@somedomain.com) and then made them into html links by adding the appropriate tags, mailto: etc. ...

If there is something on hotscripts for this, please let me know because its tough to search for something when you cant tell what its categorized as.

Also, if there is a built in php function (im using 4.3.3), let me know too

Thanks.
