Unhappy Reading from mySql backwards

I have made a small news posting facility on my soon to be site. It is reading from a database called "news" and it is doing it buy "Order By date". This brings the problem that newer posts goto the bottom and older ones are at the top which isn't what i need... Is there any way of ordering it the other way round??

Thanks for any help in advance
