Angry Header("Location:... Question

Hey guys and gals,

Is there a way to pass arguments through the Header("Location:...") in Netscape 4.79? Our departmental browser is still Net 4.79 (which I hate) so everything has to work in there. I have the following line:

header("Location: signin_menu_e.php?area=$txtEnArea");

It works fine in IE but not in Netscape. It's like if I'm trying to download the page in Netscape.

Does anyone know of a way to do this in Netscape? Is it doable at all??

A programmer very frustrated with Netscape!

Hi. As far as I know their isn't anything which can address this issue, either update your Netscape to the latest version (7.1 i think) or cope with it. Sorry.

I was afraid of that. I don't think the department is upgrading their broswer standard soon so I guess I'll just have to cope with it.

Thanks!

it is not *that* weird. I work for a company that builds websites, and by default we make sure that sites at least work in Netscape 4.7 or higher. You'd be surprised how many big companies still use that old version of netscape. they just got stuck at that point, and didn't want to upgrade to NS6 or mozilla, or even the latest IE.

agreed, but it's something we'll have to cope with unfortunately.
