i have a forums in my site
i put pop up scripts in footer and newpost

put is this scripts affect on the security

because someone told me i can read any private message in your forums and can write in any registered nick!!!!!!!

how can i strength my forums security

i have 2.3.2 version

usually Java wont make such a security hole !! actually jave is a clinte side script unlike php deals with server side so I don't think it's possible .. maybe he was just joking with you
but anyway I suggest you go vB's official site and ask for help there .. because they know best about what they wrote

it sounds like you have modified your forum slightly? with the popups and stuff? maybe you should focus on what those modifications do, maybe there is a security issue there?

Thats not accurate. Java and Javascript are different which is worth remembering. Javascript is a client side scripting language which is activated by the clients browser whereas Java is a server side language which is functioned on the server which then displays the output.

vBulletin is pretty secure but there are a number of known loopholes with earlier versions of v2. Which version are you running?

Also, ask this person to prove what he is telling you by reading the last PM you sent so you can then confirm if he is correct or is making it up.
