I was wondering, what is the best routet to make a web based "live" chat? AJAX? Comet? I am trying to make a live chat system for my staff and one for updating news. I dont want to have to refresh constantly, I am looking to make a system like the facebook chat.

Or if you want to build it yourself: a combined AJAX/PHP chatroom is the way to go. I've done it myself once and it's pretty easy (if you know how to work the AJAX bit, as that's a pain)

Yeah, thats the thing, Ive never used AJAX nor have I used javascript much.
