SSH may not be part of the installed version of PHP. You can check by running some of the sample code with SSH2 calls. If it runs okay, you're all set.

So there's no way you can use SSH2 on a shared hosting?

You may be able to, you would have to check with your hosting company.

It is if you are paying a company to host your web site. If you have your own server, it doesn't apply.

I use shared hosting for most of my sites.
