Hi guys,

Basically I have good knowledge of PHP, OOP PHP etc...

However I am starting to look into XML, as we have a new sie which requires us to read data from XML files which has lists of products and prices etc....

Basically I am starting looking into XML and am a bit baffled about what I need to learn? I dont really need to become an 'Expert' in XML and building them myself etc......(obviously I plan to look into it more once I can do what I need to do).....but the thing is I am lost as to where to start? There is XPath, SimpleXML, XSLT, DTD's etc.....loads of different things but I am unsure where to start and what to learn first? I understand the basic of XML structure with parent, child , attributes etc...

I just need to read the XML file and pull certain data to the relevant pages etc...if anybody has gone through the learning curve already and could help me with what to lean, in what order etc..I would be very greatful.

it seems that you got all the necessary understanding and skills already. i think learning how to use simplexmlelement and simplexml functions will solve your needs. the php documentation has some basic examples which should be enough, such as http://www.php.net/manual/en/simplex...t.children.php
