Exclamation Is Experince by time ?

I was wondering about this today ..
I saw some programmer says they've been programming for 3 years or whatever time ...
is experince by time ? I mean this programmer maybe only make echo and print scripts or even just forms and reciver scripts , in other words, haven't got deep inside the language ..
I am a php programmer and it's been only about 3 months but I am working now in complex large projects .. and even makin' profits from it
so what do you think ?

i think so. ive been programming for 4 yrs and when i 1st started i only knew a basic amount of HTML and now i know everything about HTML and now im getting my PHP/MySQL knowledge improved so yes the longer you do it the better you get, if your really into web programming. Basically like nething else in life

I know time is something really effective in experince but do you think it's the only the thing that makes you better and better ?
I mean if you found someone e.g. who only uses echo and loops for 6 years is really not that experinced , I think what really matters is the subject that you work on and how deep you get inside it will make you a prof ,, and if you go deep with a long time , you will be the best !!

not sure if I made my idea clear or not but that's my english I have

experience is not just measured by time, it is measured by what you do in that time. so if someone with 4 years of experience has only done echo scripts and form processors, and another person has been working with php for only 6 months but has made full-fledged websites or intranets, then I'd say the latter person has more experience.

or maybe experience is measured in time, but skills arent

that's exactly what I meant from the begining

I agree but not agree. i agree if your really into programming your learn quick but sometime there r those who say they can program but use a editor which is like cheating on a test.at the school i go to, im the only in that class that knows how to program w/o a editor(i use notpad) in fact im really teaching others there but im just learning PHP/mySQL and its ezr since i already have programming knowledge.and so far im working on a search engine that has some loops, echos, queries, fuctions, ect so its very complex but fun.hope my point made sence(tend to go off subject)

Everything requires time and within that time, depending on how you spend your time, your experience builds up.
But I think stefan covered it.

I started learning compiled languages before scripting languages. Thats the best way to do it. If your a PHP programmer going into C or C++ your gonna have a bit of a struggle! But if its the other way round then its no problem. I've been professionally programming for 15 years, and being honest, the only language I don't know, or very limited on knowledge is Assembler. I hate to boast but there nothing I can't do in programming. If your as enthusiastic as me in Software Engineering then it won't take long for you to learn a new language. Again... It all depends on your enthusiasm.
