Lightbulb Bill gates & explorer hmmm

Does anyone else think that bill gates should drop internet explorer with the next release of window OS & create a completely different browser that actually works how its meant to.

IE 7 works fairly well compared to the other versions of IE.

Besides, as far as I know, Bill Gates doesn't have to anything anymore with the development of IE or even Windows.

I'm not a big supporter of IE, but IE8 has passed some great milestones - one of which is passing the Acid2 test!

I'm expecting big changes from the next release.

IE is fine for most users.

You see if a 13 year old kid writes bad poetry on tripod on his badly writtern html firefox messes it up. IE goes "I see what you did there" and shows it how the kid wanted.

So keep IE for the sake of angst ridden 13 year olds everywhere!

I'm saying that IE cares as much about webstandards as _most_ internet users. How many pages look bad in only IE?

Show me some of these pages that show badly only in IE and look fine in other browsers. I'm at my dev desk, so I got IE7, FireFox, Opera, Safari and Cameo here to try it with.

I'm not asking you for a POC page I want actuall real pages that only IE will show badly.

Please don't think I want IE, I don't use it if I can help it. I use FireFox Portable when I'm on site so I can avoid it. However the fact remains that IE is an easy to use tool and shows 99% of websites perfectly while other browsers that _care_ about webstandards fail to show badly made pages.

I know we are a developer community, but rember your EU is not a developer.

Then your member area doesn't work for ~90% of users.
