Question Email as your Username?

Hello All,

I was wondering what you prefer when logging to an account...
Having your email as your username
or just having a username like "phpdoctor"?

Vote and discuss...

Depends...

If it's a forum type website where any of my information/comments is made public, then certainly a user name.

In all other cases I don't mind. But I guess more users will actually remember their email address, rather than a user name.

(Btw, if this is for the same site as your other recent threads, how'd you deal with email addresses anyway, if you want to have them in your subdomain?)

True true... its does depend on the situration doesnt it...

Your btw question... are you talking about the other thread about subdomains i had?
Im not giving them emails with the subdomain... i just wanted it for looks lol.
I used a wildcard and processed the subdomain with php
They have a form on there original website that sends information to there subdomain.
The subdomain part is just to make the action alittle more user friendly

Anyways im deciding weather or not to use email as there username and wondering what other people thought about it.

Thanks,
Lex

I like email as username, because that would be one less username I would have to remember.

That is of course if the email is not going to be published / displayed on the site anywhere (no spam).

I'd go for the email as well. If its a popular site then all the good usernames that are based on common names (such as William) are taken already, so you'd have to come up with something strange. And if your famous on the interwebs then likely someones taken your usual username too.
Of course assuming its not published on the site unless explicitly allowed by the user

UserName

Username has always been my preference, but with so many options out there it all gets confused anyway. Hopefully some excellent password saver will come around soon enough.

I always use my user name because it's easier and less confusing.
