latest forum posts in htm page

hello all ..

is it possible to show the latest forum posts of a forum (phpbb2) as links in a html page. if yes can anyone suggest a script for this purpose.

am a completely newbie in this stuff .. just made a couple of pages with MS frontpage .. so any help is highly appreciated

This can be done either of two ways :
  1. Create a mod_rewrite entry to make the browser think it's a html file
  2. Make the html file, but dynamically generate an included javascript file that prints the information onto it

As you're a complete newbie, I'll presume you want a solution to get this from another board you have no control over.. well, I don't know. Perhaps there's a mod the owner has to have installed.

actually the forum is from my site only , n i have full access to it

The second method suggested by you sounds quite feasible, the problem is how do i make such a script.

The htm page is none but the index.htm file . What am trying to achieve is that the visitors can directly see the last 7 or 8 posts of the forum on the homepage ..

any suggestions ...

Thank You so much ..

I just found what i was looking for & it is working absolutely perfectly. just had to change the filename from index.htm to index.php & the rest is done by the script i found
