Best PHP/MySQL CMS App

Sorry for repeating this request, but though I'd ask myself to see if any new packages are out there...

I have a *very* short space of time to get a CMS system up and running in PHP with backend db supplied by MySQL.

The CMS must feature (at minimum):

* ability to upload and catalogue publications (PDF and DOC).
* management of the site struture by administrators/editors.
* basic and advanced searching of the CMS.
* good user management.
* ability to put new content "on hold" until it has been approved by an editor/publisher then released on the intranet/extranet.
* other features such as discussion boards, calendar, tasks and events etc, useful but not a major requirement.

Normally I would use my own CMS system but its written in .net, my PHP is very good so what I am looking for is a pre-built CMS system I can quite easilly get up and running in a week or so with content then utilise or add my own features to the CMS later on.

Thanks.

if you run a search for php cms, you'll literally find TONS of posts about this.

There are tons of cms systems too that will do everything you want as well. (to get you started, there's phpnuke/postnuke, mambo, wordpress, and many listed on hotscripts).

The answer to your question is: "the best cms is the one that you can install with the least amount of fuss".

try

dBMasters new Community Manager.

It is currently in late beta. I have a few sites up with it and it works great. I believe it has all the features you are looking for.
