I've been considering doing something like this, but so far have not done so mainly because there is only 24 hours in a day unfortunately.

if anyone else is working on one though, I'd also be very interested in it.

I had perldesk and I just decided to go buy another script. Best choice I made. By the way, you only need the user end in php if you want to implement in your php site.
