Password Protect Directory Using PHP

Hi everyone...

I have a problem... I need to protect a directory. I know it can be done using .htaccess but this time, the username and password is stored in MySQL database. Is there a way I can use PHP to protect a directory?

Error checking, error reporting, and error recovery. If your code does not have these to get it to tell you why it is not working, what makes you think someone in a programming forum will be able to tell you why it is not working???
