Calendar Script Suggestions

I'm looking for suggestions on a simple calendar script, just something that will:

- display the current month
- have a month and year selector of some sort
- php & mySQL based

If it has the capability to add events and/or support multiple users, that would be nice but not absolutely necessary. I've looked at dozens here and so far they're either way too simple or vastly overblown.

I just need a basic, simple 'skeleton' calendar script that I can build out to support multiple users, event types, etc. If there's something like this out there that you're aware of I'd appreciate a link to it. If there's one that has these additional features (multi-user, particularly) I'd really like to hear about it. I'm looking for anything free or up to ~$100 or so.

Any suggestions?

I have everything you need, but when you mentioned PHP, I had to stop.. Maybe you could port the calendar script at www.indyevents.com to PHP?

No, I need to have it done before I move to the nursing home, lol.

Thanks. It looks like a decent calendar, but we're moving away from perl. In fact, my hardy little band of misfits hasn't taken on or coded anything in perl in a couple of years. If there was a compelling reason to do so, we'd consider it but it would have to be really, really compelling. In all likelihood we can code up or modify an existing calendar in PHP more quickly than we could convert one from perl.

Thanks for the suggestion.

This looks like a possible script to me.

1) Is the code fully open?
2) I tried setting an event (on the demo site) that runs from Friday at 3pm to Sunday at 5pm, but couldn't see how to do it. Is this possible with this calendar? (My users will enter a lot of repeating events.)

EDIT: On closer examination, I'm not sure if this will work for me. I need a calendar that allows day-spanning events that repeat, and from what I can tell I don't think this will do that. Thank you for the link, though. I'm thinking I may have to roll my own.
