A few simple scripts

I'm looking for a few simple scripts, I've tried searching through the database for a long time, but haven't been able to find what I'm looking for.

Script 1 - Simple display of information from an spreadsheet on a page

I want to be able to take a simple excell spreadsheet, and be able to upload that to a script which will then display the few tables in a simple way on a page. For example, I have a spreadsheet that has a few tables;

John / Data1 / Data2
Mike / Data1 / Data2

Then be able to upload that to the script and have it turn it into tables on a webpage. Nothing interactive, nothing fancy.

Script 2 - Form mailer to pbpbb forum.

I'm not even sure if this exists. Is there a script that will take a form and post it on a pbpbb forum? Preferably pbpbb3.

Script 3 - Simple free blog

The blog I'm using basically died when my host updated the php, and they haven't updated. Can anyone recommend a simple, free, easily customizable blog script?

NO! The types of scripts you want do not exist They have to be custom made. Also, you never did tell us if you want a script made in PHP, PERL, ASP etc.

1) Now, had you said you wanted a Perl script to take a excel spreadsheet and convert it to a web page, I would have pointed you in the right direction ( www.cpan.org ) or given you a hand in building one based on what I completed for a guy a year ago.

2) As for PHPMailer, I can also help you with that. (Reading the docs on PHPmailer show ample examples on making it work with any php script.)

3) WordPress - Joomla or I have a few Perl blogging scripts that can either use MySQL or flat-file. It has auto-resizing of images, subscriber features, create web pages on the fly, RSS and all the other standards.

HOW CAN WE ASSIST YOU FROM HERE Because I know of no other site that WANTS to help people as much as this one!!!

This particular post should be moved to PAID FORUM as 66% of the OP's request will require customized coding/scripting

Well, it's people like aaron that join forums like this just to get a question answered then never come back. Patience is the key and being more descriptive like curview mentioned is also a good idea.

What I requested doesn't exist and needs to be custom made? You say that as if I should have known. How in the world would I know that? A blog? A script to send forms to a forum? A script to display spreadsheet data on a web page? That doesn't sound so outrageous as to think these scripts couldn't exist. I looked, didn't find them, so I requested them here. I don't see why that's unreasonable, or why you should say my post needs to be moved. Also, there's nothing in the stickies that say you must request the language of the script. If these are rules, then they need to be made clear in the stickies.

JeremyTM, I came here because I've been looking for scripts for the site I run for quite a while and thought I could request help finding them here. I'm not sure why that deserves responses like "Well, it's people like aaron that join forums like this just to get a question answered then never come back." I thought I was using the forum as intended. Am I not? I've used hotscripts many times in the past, this was the first time I've tried the forums. I made the original post 2 weeks before asking if the forums were still active. I think waiting 2 weeks for a response is being fairly patient.

I will be more descriptive, I thought I had been, I will be more be even more so. I wanted scripts like:

A) A simple script to display the contents of a spreadsheet as tables on a website. I'm not sure what else to say. I had seen scripts similar; ones that display spreadsheet data on a website, but it was far too large and was interactive, and I didn't need that, thats why I wouldn't have assumed it had to be custom made. No I don't have any preference how its written. I appreciate you giving a link to cpan.

B) A simple blog, all I wanted was for someone to recommend a simple blog they've used. Not asking that much.

C) A form mailer to post forms to a phpbb forum. I had heard of a script that allowed this. It was used on another site I knew of. That script had been discontinued and did not work on newer versions of even pbpbb2. For that reason I assumed such a script might exist and would not need to be custom built. I was hoping you'd be able to point me to a working script that was still being updated. I looked up phpmailer, is this what you were talking about? http://phpmailer.codeworxtech.com/tutorial.html It looks like this is only to send mail from php rather than to post a form on a phpbb forum.

I really do appreciate you guys answering, although you do come across as a little hostile towards me for requesting these scripts, as if I've done something wrong. Maybe thats not your intention at all, I apologize if I read you wrong. I do appreciate the help. While I did not come here with the intention of only getting an answer then never posting again like Jeremy said (I've used hotscripts many times, I run several websites, and had a lot of interest in this), this probably won't be the first place I come for help next time.

No one is being rude to you. If anything what do you think any person who has been on this forum for more than a year is supposed to think about you having said the following:

Quote:
Does anyone read these forums anymore? If anyone is there, can you recommend a more active forums on scripts?
If you took a moment to see the numerous posts made in the Script Request section where people make a request, get an answer and never return, you would see why people are not so quick to answer.

Secondly, take a look at the posts made where people define in their requests which language they prefer the script to be in.
Again, nobody is trying to give you a hard time. Maybe it would be better if you familiarize yourself with the forum etiquette as I noticed that you are fairly new here with the only 3 posts made thus far. No need to come with guns blazin'... We do help here

-Cheers!!!

lol. curb. I respect your resourcefulness for providing information, but this got waaaay too complicated. Since the phpmailer curb's got covered, and I have a working blog script (mine isn't free, but curb's got that covered too), I'll take care of your excel problem. The beautiful thing about Microsoft technologies is that they provide support for themselves. I would have suggested that you just install an excel viewer on your pc, (they even have viewers for portable storage devices), but since you want an application that will print the results to screen, I can design one for you. One of the beautiful things I learned while I thought I was wasting my money was ASP and the usefull applications of Active-X. Message me and let me know more about what you need it for and how you intend to use it, so I know where to start.
