Hello all:

I found a great free script that writes text onto images at http://blog.ninedays.org/2007/11/29/.../#comment-1051

The problem is that this script only allows numbers not text, but if text and numbers were allowed and there were numerous input fields, this would be a killer script. You could set up an online custom sign or business card builder application, custom online postcards, and more.


If I didn't think this was a request to modify a script that others could use, I would not have posted this here because then it would have only benefited me, but I can see alot of applications if someone would improve on this script.

I have a simple script (written by another) at

that writes numbers onto a png image using another php file, which I have added a .txt file extension to so you can see it at...

What I'd like is to have the script edited so that there are eight online input forms like the one in the example above, but allowing text and numbers to be input.

In addition, for each of the eight input forms, the script (not the input form itself that appears online) should also contain variables allowing me to dictate the text font, size, color and XY coordinates of the output for each of the eight input forms.


Just to be clear, I DON'T want an online user to have to select the text font, size, color and XY coordinates. I just want them in the script, so I can change the script later for a different application.

Please add any comments into the script code that you can think of that will help me later edit it.

Script requests section might help and experts-exchange, thats that annoying site where I keep trying to find answers and get taken to page full of questions! I see from your post that it works on a point system, so I pay then have to WORK at being a member?!

Hmmm, maybe I missed the point but isnt that what this forum does FREE!

Actually experts-exchange has been quite good in the past, but it's taking too long this time. I was hoping someone here who was a member there might like the 500 points I posted for the answer.

I don't think you have to pay to join and answer questions, but when you answer them, you earn points that you can award to others for questions you don't know the answers to . The only people who pay are those who only ask questions. It works ok, but the site is very hard to navigate and figure out.
