Small and simple content management script

A friend of mine asked me to help her display her monthly promotions on her website. I was thinking of placing 2 or 3 small boxes on the index, with a content management system.

The thing is, I can't find a content manager simple enough. It will just be those 2 or 3 boxes saying: "this month, if you buy A, you get B for free", and I really want her to be able to change those texts easily without having to edit the website.

Can anyone recommend a simple content management system? You know... proportional to it's objective...

Thanks in advance,

Vicky

Is the site written in php or asp?

If not, can you use shtml? Maybe do a small include of the promos and just update that 1 file.

I doubt you'll find exactly what your looking for since most cms's are designed to be as universally feature filled so everyone can use it, and for the more basic stuff, your probably better off getting someone to write a small custom php app and/or do it yourself.

The site is in plain html right now, but of course I will have to change that. Do you have any suggestions on how to do this? I have never written a script myself, so I'm at loss here, but I will definitely try (it's a good chance to learn it at last). Is there any site you can recommend for me to read about it?

SHTML is a good way to go.

To use it, you could just name the files .shtml

Then, include the content you want to post with a statement like this:

<!--#include virtual="topic.txt" -->

You can just show her how to ftp the files up using Windows Explorer. (not IE)

If you want to get fancy, you could add some PHP code to allow her to edit the files on the server through the web, but that will create some potentially serious security issues, and may not be worth the effort.
