Need PHP script to accept a Post

What I want to do is post information from my desktop database application and have a script that records the information and stores it in a file (preferably an sql file) that I can download later.

This is probably pretty easy for a php programmer.. and I've done just enough php programming to be dangerous

I already do http posting to credit card processors... so I know how to do that part.
