I'm thinking of developing a site much the same as craigslist over here in europe but first need to find out how feasible it might be to do. I have very basic website-making abilities so will certainly need some help on the programming side.
The problem as I see it would be in developing a self publishing system like Craigslist have. Also the ability to anomonize (?) e-mail addresses as they have.
Now I went to hotscripts.com and saw that there are a number of templates you can use for a classifed site. But I don't like many of them. I really like the simplicity of craigslist, text only layout. Most of the ones there seem difficult to navigate around and not very impressive. I want to have a simple main page from where you can access everything at once, if possible.
Also would a basic hosting package such as that of lunarpages.com be able to handle such a site or would I need something better (more expensive!).
Anyway if anyone could advise me on this subject I'd really appreciate it.
My lack of knowledge is the main thing holding me back from going ahead with this project, and so I'd really appreciate your help.
