First an explanation:

I have a client who is contracted by theater licensing companies to create tracks for Broadway musicals.
Here is the thing.

The company sells these (legally) to Schools, Community Theaters etc. who are contracted with the production companies to do the productions.

My client receives all the licensing from the client etc before he can send out the tracks.

Right now all this is done manually and he needs to upload every track or zip file (sometimes as many as 20) using Yousendit. This is inconvenient to the client as well as their Customer. Imagine 20 some downloads and emails!

He tried to keep them in zip files in secure folders on a server with password protection (which was not a problem) other than some unscrupulous customers shared the username and passwords.
So he had to have ME manually change them every few days. It was a chore to say the least.


That is the history.

This is what I am looking for and in my searching have not found:

The client still has the server to hold all these files in separate folders.

Once all information is received by the client from their Customer, and they have received payment, they can allow them to download the files

What is needed is for the client to create a download link (hiding the actual URL of the download), username and password that can be set to expire after 7 days or 2 downloads something of that nature.

There are shopping carts that do this but it is all automated and it cannot be since the client has to make sure they have all the legal signatures and files in hand before they can send out the info for the download.

Anyone know of something like this?
