But honestly your script was derived from Everyauction and many of your features are donated addons from their users. Modified probably but we know where they came from. Hell you didnt even change the links..
Your accounting looks a lot like a spinoff from accountfirst by phonewire.com to me, originally designed for Everyauction. It too is gpl. Image upload script looks familiar too..
You arent goint to say that you just sat down and wrote this from the ground up without even looking/refering to EA or its addons are you?
If so why would you go through all the trouble of naming your links the same as EA and its addons?

I am sure that you(like so many others) have modified it quite a bit by using addons and modified addons from Everyauction forums. Nothing wrong with that, just dont come off with the this is all my work bull. I have seen this too many times.

BTW you should stop by the EA forums as there seeem to be more and more people everyday looking for support on your program.
They dont get any help because we arent going to provide the support for your commercial version. but they are looking. I have to wonder why?

I tried not to mention Everyauction or the source of your code, but since you did..I wont reserve comment on it..

I used to have a full version of my own that was "partially" derived from EA.
I didnt like risking my code to gpl, so I wrote my own NON EA txt file version.
I later wrote my own Mysql based auction that has all the bells and whistles.
I know what it takes to write and support a large script like this, and I know how long it takes. After all that work you would like to protect the code, but if you start with or use any part of GPL scripts...then your script must also be released under gpl whether you charge for it or not..
I never stated that the script wasn't inspired by EveryAuction. To be 100% honest with you, it very much was so. I'm simply stating that there is much more to it than the code itself. That is all. I'll stop by the EveryAuction forums later this afternoon. I would like to see these support requests myself. it appears I may need to set-up some sort of public message board at BidFlux.com.

Yes, I fully understand and appreciate what you are saying.
As I said, I was once there myself..
I posted at EA regarding this.
I called those who have dealt with you that are happy with your support to come to your defense.
I also called those who say they cant get support to voice their opinion.

As I said at EA, there is absolutely no malicious intent here.

JMHO
You should have enough skills to be able to write your own full version, I encourage you to give it a try. You will be more than happy with the results as you will only improve what you have now. And it feels great to know that you do own the code 100%.
You might want to give Mysql a whirl too.
My life and abilities have changed drastically for the better since I went that way.
Scripting takes half the effort and it runs 1000% better..

A forum is a great idea too.
I dont get a lot of action on mine, but its there.
Wdic has a nice new forum available, resembles EA forum.
Get the download url at the EA forums.
I modified mine to be just forums without auction.
See it here http://webzstar.com

Here is a basic search for bidflux at EA if it helps you:
http://forum.everysoft.com/cgi-bin/f...rtby=relevance
I will find a couple of the other posts that I was talking aout that didnt use the word bidflux..

Again, Good Luck To You..

Way ahead of you!

I've been working on v2.0 for about a year or so now. Due to the drastic changes (different database; switched to MySQL ), v2.0 is basically a completely new script and non-compatible with our current v1.X package. Lately, I've been putting quite allot of work into it (when I'm not here arguing), and things are finally starting to pull together. It really shouldn't be to much longer now.

Bidflux offers no support!

Own Your Own 100% Fully Functional Auction Web Site! Yeah right. I spent 4 months fixing hundreds of errors and restoring functionality to parts of the script that didn't work at all. What was Joel's response to this? Actually there was no response, because he didn't respond to a single email I sent asking for support. One thing consistent with Joel, is once the purchase is made the relationship ends. Don't waste your money.

Regarding Madclicker!

I have bought Madclickers auction ... about 4 years ago. At the time his auction was selling for $120 including installation. I informed him that I needed a couple changes to the script and he agreed to make them for an additional $80. I sent him the money within minutes of getting off the phone with him.

6 days later, he finally installed the script after I had to repeatedly call him and badger him to do what he agreed to, which was have it installed within 24 hours. When I logged in to check out the script, there were problems, not sure what they were anymore, but I called him and asked him to get the script running. 4 days later, he had it up and running for me, but without the add-ons that I had paid for. So I started trying to contact him about the Add-ons, and it seemed that he never was at home any more. One day I called him and left a message stating that I would start posting on all the auction forums about our little problem if he didnt return my calls. He called back within the hour and promised that he would send my $80 back to me. To this day, I have never received my refund and his script stayed on my site for a total of 3 weeks. Talking about a waste of $200? I might as well have just thrown the money in the trash.

After the ordeal with MadClicker, I bought the "PHPauction" auction script. and have been using it ever since, with absolutely NO problems.

Oh Please ...
Madclicker, what you are talking about?
Everbody knows what kind of code you are selling.
The only thing you did by yourself was: editing the code that has been written by others
