w3school.com is a good platform to get the basic knowledge of Html and CSS. everything is explained with examples.

I never properly learnt CSS, I find whenever I need something to do with CSS I just Google it.

Also you can use any site that you like in the Internet . If you see anything you want to know how it has been done - just explore it using firebug.
