How to use Visual Basic?

Can anyone tell me how can I use Visual Basic 6 to create my own software? Using what? Notepad? MS Word? Microsoft Visual Basic .NET?

The link liljoeyjordison seems to have good information on how to learn visual basic. I don't think anyone can just tell you every aspect on how to create applications using visual basic. I would take programming classes (if you can) to learn the basics or try to read online tutorials to get an idea on programming. Good luck.
