Many corporate sites are designed with a fairly standard layout of a banner, navigation across the top, content in the middle, and footer links for privacy, terms of use, contact, etc. Often, there is little color, the background is white and gradients are used for contrast. Usually, there is an application or CMS behind them.
These sites tend to use images more as content than design, and choosing the colors for the site from the logo can create a very nice site.
