Subdomain 404 error pages

Hello people,

Does anyone know to create a subdomain error page, I use CPanel and I created an error page for my main website www.poundingbeats.com and it works. I created it using the CPanel "Customer Error Page" builder etc. All it seems to have done is created a file called 404.shtml in the main folder.

I thought I could just copy this file into my sub-domains folder and it would work, but it hasnt. I want a different error page for my subdomain than my main site.

Heres the link: -

www.jab.poundingbeats.com

Heres the link to the 404.shtml

www.jab.poundingbeats.com/404.shtml

Try going to a page that does not exist in that subdomain and you will see it does not work.

I dont understand, The only thing what seemed different to me was the 404.shtml in the root folder.

So all I did was copy that?

Try putting this code in a .htaccess file.
Code:
ErrorDocument 404 /404.shtml

Alright are you sure this will work.

Here is what my folder structure is like at the moment: -

------Top Level (www.poundingbeats.com)

------------JAB (www.jab.poundingbeats.com)

------------------404.shtml (The one I copied from the top level)

------------.htaccess

------------404.shtml (The one CPanel made)

Do i need to create a new .htaccess file in the JAB folder?
